This page examines divorces through the origin variable. All persons with at least one parent born in Finland are considered to be of Finnish background. Persons whose both parents or the only known parent were born abroad are considered to be of foreign background. Data on dissolved marriages by spouses' country of birth can be found in the database tables of the statistics on Changes in marital status. From the figures below you can view key number data related to divorces between persons with Finnish background and persons with foreign background. By clicking the figures larger, you can find more browsing selections according to origin and different background countries and other additional selections (e.g. copyable image, show as a table, etc.).
